Cornelius grew up in Chicago, only having a few friends throughout his life. He wasn't very popular due to the fact he's gay, but a few girls became friends with him in 4th grade. His parents found out about him being gay when he was in 7th grade, they then disowned him, making him go to church with them every Sunday and having the pastor pray for him after every sanctuary. His parents always made him wear a crucifix necklace, and they have always been very paranoid about mythical creatures. Cornelius' father works as a co owner of a news paper company in Chicago. His father has heard about the suspicious activity going on down in Myersville, about the activity of people claiming to have been seeing vampires, so he sent Cornelius down to report, being too scared to go himself. Cornelius was pretty contempt with the fact he was being sent away, because he has never believed in mythical creatures.
